The lightweight class intensity reached a fever pitch as Maximo Quiles solidified his dominant form under the scorching heat and floodlights of the Lusail International Circuit. The Aspar Team rider successfully secured back-to-back pole positions for the first time this season during a dramatic qualifying session. His impressive lap time of 2 minutes 02.288s proved enough to lock down the front of the grid, despite enduring heavy crashes during Friday practice and earlier in FP2.
Despite this being his first visit to Qatar, the rider sporting number 28 immediately took control right from his initial run. A clever pit lane exit caught the chasing pack off guard as rivals scrambled to find a tow. Quiles ultimately did not need to complete a final time attack lap in the closing moments, as his earlier benchmark remained comfortably out of reach for the rest of the grid.
Second place went to David Almansa representing the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP squad. He pushed hard to challenge for the top spot under the evening conditions but finished the session just 0.155s slower than the benchmark time. Meanwhile, an inspiring recovery was staged by Brian Uriarte, who had to fight his way through from Q1. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider delivered a stellar performance to claim third place.

Uriarte's teammate, Alvaro Carpe, followed closely in fourth after also advancing safely from the opening qualifying phase. The top ten order rounded out with strong efforts from David Munoz in fifth and Adrian Fernandez taking sixth as the leading Honda runner.
