The Marina Bay Street Circuit delivered unmatched drama as Max Verstappen successfully converted his pole position into a stunning victory during the sprint race at the 2026 F1 Singapore Grand Prix. The short-format race faced a tense 30-minute delay due to torrential downpours that completely soaked the iconic street track, creating exceptionally tricky wet-weather conditions for the entire grid.
Chaos erupted right from the start when George Russell made a brilliant launch to snatch the lead away from the front row. However, disaster struck on the opening lap when the British driver crashed out of the lead, bringing a premature and dramatic end to his promising run on the treacherous asphalt.
Capitalizing on the chaos, Verstappen seized control of the sprint and cruised comfortably at the front. Further down the order, Lewis Hamilton delivered a masterclass recovery drive, carving his way up from sixth on the starting grid to secure an impressive second-place finish.

Ferrari's strong day was cemented as Charles Leclerc crossed the line in third to seal a double-podium finish for the Maranello squad. Meanwhile, young sensation Kimi Antonelli put in a mature performance to take fourth place for Mercedes.
Late-race drama also struck McLaren as Lando Norris collided with teammate Oscar Piastri on the final lap, capping off a chaotic 20-lap encounter that saw a total of eight drivers fail to finish due to the difficult conditions.
