Max Verstappen is returning to his roots. The four-time F1 world champion will compete in Max vs 100, a spectacular karting event at a specially designed Silverstone circuit, airing Saturday at 18:00 local time on Disney+. This is no ordinary exhibition: Verstappen must overcome 100 drivers in a 30-lap battle filled with strategic twists.

The 2.5 km track combines the classic Silverstone kart circuit with an extension using part of the Wellington straight and the Brooklands-Luffield section of the F1 circuit. All karts are identical in performance, and ballast will be adjusted to eliminate any advantage for lighter participants. Max Verstappen is enthusiastic: “I drove karts from the age of four to fifteen, so this is a great opportunity to go back to my roots and rediscover how I fell in love with this sport.”
The race has unusual rules. For the first 15 laps, the 100 drivers may use a one-time shortcut to overtake Verstappen and avoid elimination. However, in the final 15 laps, only Verstappen can use that strategy. “Trying to race against 100 people will be very difficult and will require patience to move up the field as quickly as possible,” said the Red Bull driver.

Verstappen also highlighted the technical aspect: “I think I should pick up the rhythm quite naturally, but it's nice to know I can rely on data-based simulations from the qualifying sessions.” He acknowledged that some participants will be very fast. “I know some will be very quick and I think all participants will be quite competitive, so it will be interesting and very hectic to see the fight ahead of me.”
This is not the first time Verstappen has been involved in unique events. But racing against 100 people at once is unprecedented. “This is obviously something only Red Bull could organise,” he said. “I haven't driven a go-kart for several years, so it will be fun to get back on track and see how I do, but there are a lot of people to overtake, so we'll see.”
For motorsport fans, Max vs 100 offers fresh entertainment amid the F1 break. It's a chance to see another side of Verstappen: not as a driver with the most advanced car, but as someone returning to the roots of the discipline that raised him. With a format demanding strategy, courage, and mental endurance, this event is unmissable.
