Max Verstappen has offered a cautious yet humorous response to Daniel Ricciardo's ambitious idea of forming an all-star endurance line-up alongside Sebastian Vettel for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The idea was initially floated by Ricciardo during a recent podcast appearance. The former Formula 1 driver, who now serves as a Ford Racing ambassador, envisioned a dream trio featuring himself, Verstappen, and Vettel in the iconic endurance classic.
Speaking to the media, the four-time F1 world champion quipped that his former Red Bull teammate made a very smart choice by putting his name in the car, acknowledging the strategy behind the proposed driver lineup.

However, the Dutch driver made it clear that a project of Le Mans' magnitude requires absolute dedication. He stressed that if he were to participate, he would want to approach it properly with thorough preparation rather than just showing up.
Verstappen admitted that at the current stage of his career, he simply lacks the free time needed to commit fully to a Le Mans campaign amidst his heavy Formula 1 schedule and various external commitments.
The topic is far from new territory for the duo. Verstappen revealed that the subject of teaming up for an endurance race has already come up in previous private discussions between them.
Concluding his thoughts, he emphasized that any future attempt would require precise timing and rigorous preparation to stand a genuine chance of winning against full-season endurance specialists.
