Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola has provided a crucial update regarding the physical condition of Jorge Martin and the team's ongoing championship campaign following a challenging race weekend marred by injury.
The Noale-based manufacturer suffered a severe blow during the Sprint event when their star rider sustained a crash that resulted in multiple fractures, disrupting their momentum in the premier class of motorcycle racing.
Addressing the media via Sky Sport, Massimo Rivola admitted that seeing the Spaniard back on the bike in Malaysia remains a highly complicated scenario, though his presence inside the garage is guaranteed. "Martin in pista a Sepang? Con la tuta difficile, di sicuro restera con noi," stated Massimo Rivola, outlining the immediate plans for the recovering rider.

Detailing the extent of the injuries, the team principal confirmed that despite the severity of the impact, the bone fracture is thankfully clean. "La frattura c’e, per fortuna e composta. Si e fracassato tutto ed e sempre tornato sempre piu forte, vedremo," he added, highlighting the resilience previously shown by the rider throughout his career.
Reflecting on the missed opportunities during recent overseas rounds where their machine proved to be exceptionally competitive in dry conditions, Rivola emphasized that Aprilia Racing refuses to surrender prematurely. As reported by FormulaPassion, the squad intends to fight until the mathematical elimination dictates the final outcome of the season.
