Jorge Martin left Sachsenring with an even more comfortable lead in the 2026 MotoGP championship, despite a subdued fifth-place finish in Sunday's German Grand Prix. The Aprilia Racing rider now tops the standings with 208 points, extending his margin as his closest rivals failed to capitalize.

Behind Martin, a major reshuffle unfolded. Ai Ogura from Trackhouse Aprilia jumped to second with 194 points, thanks to his remarkable consistency this season. Meanwhile, reigning champion Marc Marquez of Ducati Lenovo continued his climb to third with 190 points after a perfect double in Germany. Just a few races ago, after Mugello, he was over 100 points adrift.

Marco Bezzecchi, who once led the championship, slipped to fourth after missing both German races due to a broken collarbone sustained in qualifying. Fabio di Giannantonio of VR46 also lost two places to fifth after suffering his first DNF of the season.

These changes reshape the title fight heading into the second half of the season. Aprilia now has two riders in the top four with Martin and Bezzecchi, while Ducati relies on an in-form Marquez. Trackhouse, Aprilia's satellite squad, emerges as a new force thanks to Ogura.

With 11 of 22 rounds completed, Martin's 14-point advantage over Ogura is far from safe. Consistency is key, and Martin has proven he can lead even without victories. Can he hold on? Or will Marquez mount a comeback? The season is long, and the battle at the top promises to intensify.
