Marc Marquez is among the few riders staying with the same MotoGP team for the new 850cc/Pirelli era in 2027. Out of the ten factory seats, only Ducati's reigning champion and Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi remain in place.
When asked to name the most interesting rider moves for next season, the Spaniard picked out three names: future team-mate Pedro Acosta, current team-mate Pecco Bagnaia, and Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo.
Acosta will join Ducati from KTM, Bagnaia moves to Aprilia, which currently leads the championship, while Quartararo has signed with Marquez's former team, Honda. These three represent different paths: moving to a top team, joining a rising squad, and returning to a manufacturer in the midst of a major project.
Interestingly, Marquez began with a joke. "Are we talking about riders? Because I will say tyres [are the most interesting change]!" he said, referencing the major technical regulation changes that will fundamentally alter the competitive landscape.
"But riders, I mean, of course, Pedro will be one of the most interesting talents who is moving to the winning bikes," Marquez explained. He also highlighted the big test for Quartararo: "Interesting to see how Fabio is with Honda, and how Honda develops the new bike. If Fabio has the bike, he will be fast."
On Bagnaia, Marquez sees the move to Aprilia as a positive. "Bagnaia in Aprilia is a very good rider," he said. "So let's see, it will be an interesting season."
Marquez's comments come amid one of the most intense rider transfer windows in MotoGP history. With only two riders staying at factory teams, 2027 is shaping up to be a season of proving ground for many in new environments.
