MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia Racing secured a commanding victory at the MotoGP Brazil 2026 race in Goiania, leading from start to finish in a Grand Prix shortened due to track degradation.
The race distance was reduced from 31 to 23 laps just minutes before the start following an assessment by FIM. This late change forced teams into rapid strategic adjustments, particularly regarding rear tyre selection and temperature management from the opening laps.
Bezzecchi capitalised on the situation with a strong launch and immediately took control of the race. After showing pace in the warm-up session, he maintained a consistent rhythm throughout, using the stability of the RS-GP26 package to build a decisive gap over the field.

The battle for second intensified on lap six when Fabio Di Giannantonio overtook Marc Marquez. However, the duel between the two Ducati riders slowed their progress, allowing Jorge Martin to capitalise and move into second place, securing an Aprilia 1-2 finish.
Behind the podium, Ai Ogura delivered a strong performance to finish fifth for Trackhouse Racing, ahead of Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta, who lost the championship lead after finishing seventh with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
The race was also impacted by incidents, including a crash for Jack Miller on lap two during his 200th MotoGP start with Pramac Racing. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia and Joan Mir both failed to finish, affecting their early-season points tally.
Home rider Diogo Moreira secured a points finish in 13th for LCR Honda. In contrast, Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins of Monster Energy Yamaha were unable to maintain competitive race pace over the full distance.
This victory marks Bezzecchi’s fourth consecutive MotoGP win, continuing momentum from the end of last season and reinforcing Aprilia’s position as a leading force in the early phase of the 2026 championship.
With a reshaped standings picture and evolving technical variables, attention now turns to the next round at the Circuit of the Americas, where consistency and adaptability will again be critical in the title fight.
