When the lights went out at Motegi, Marc Marquez immediately delivered on his promise to attack from the get-go. Starting second behind his main title rival, the Ducati star snatched the lead at Turn 1 and cruised comfortably to a dominant victory in the Saturday Sprint.
This masterclass performance significantly shakes up the championship fight. With Jorge Martin slipping back to finish third, the gap at the top of the standings has dramatically shrunk to just seven points, keeping the title race wide open.
Reflecting on his lightning start, Marquez admitted that his rapid getaway comes down to pure instinct. However, he noted that surprising rivals off the line works much better during a short Sprint than in the full-distance Grand Prix on Sunday.

Tyre consistency played a massive role in securing his latest Saturday triumph. While he felt great on the soft compound, the team continues to evaluate telemetry data to make the right rubber choice for Sunday's main event.
Marquez also briefly touched upon the struggles faced by fellow stablemate Pecco Bagnaia, emphasizing that analyzing data across all factory-backed machines remains vital to maintaining their current momentum.
