Marc Marquez chose to dodge questions regarding MotoGP's plans to hold the upcoming grand prix in Qatar, despite the escalating armed conflict and military tensions in the Middle East region just weeks ahead of the scheduled race weekend.

The high-stakes event at the Lusail circuit remains officially locked in for November 6-8, with teams recently informed by championship management that the grand prix is still moving forward despite the worsening security situation in the surrounding area over the past few weeks.

Behind closed doors at Phillip Island ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, a significant number of riders are reportedly growing wary about traveling to the region. However, a unified paddock stance appeared to emerge on Thursday as top contenders carefully measured their public responses.

"Regarding that, I prefer not to give my opinion at the moment," Marc Marquez told reporters bluntly when pressed on the contentious matter during media sessions at the circuit.

Championship leader Jorge Martin, who currently holds a razor-thin advantage at the top of the standings, offered a pragmatic view while addressing the media ahead of the opening practice sessions on the Australian tarmac.

"Nobody has said we're not going. It’s just another race. If we go, great; if not, that's fine too. If the organisers decide we can go, it'll be because our safety is guaranteed," Jorge Martin stated regarding the ongoing logistical and safety evaluations.

Meanwhile, Alex Marquez took a slightly more analytical approach, openly acknowledging the fast-moving and unpredictable nature of the geopolitical landscape affecting the final stretch of the championship calendar.

"The situation changes every day and it looks worse every day, that's just how it is," Alex Marquez explained to journalists, highlighting the complexity faced by series organizers and teams alike.

He further emphasized that authorities must carefully weigh the massive financial stakes involved against the absolute necessity of protecting everyone's safety before making a definitive call on whether the grand prix can proceed without incident.
