Marc Marquez continues to pile the pressure on in the 2026 MotoGP title race. After the Misano Sprint Race, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider secured a full 12 points to bring his total to 249. This result sees him closing in on Jorge Martin, who still leads the championship with 263 points.
Marquez's deficit to Martin has shrunk from 19 points to just 14. Martin himself had to settle for third place in the Sprint, unable to extend his advantage. Meanwhile, pole sitter Marco Bezzecchi impressed with a runner-up finish and lurks in third overall with 241 points.
The battle at the top is intensifying. The total gap between Martin, Marquez, and Bezzecchi is just 22 points, creating a deadly triangle that promises fierce duels until the season finale. With eight rounds remaining, every point will be crucial.

Behind the top three, Fabio Di Giannantonio of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team sits fourth with 214 points, 49 behind Martin. Ai Ogura from SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team follows closely in fifth with 203 points, just 11 adrift of Di Giannantonio.
Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) is sixth with 193 points, ahead of Ogura's teammate Raul Fernandez on 189. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo Team languishes in eighth with 143 points, a massive 120 points off the lead.
Ninth and tenth are occupied by BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP riders Alex Marquez (133 points) and Fermin Aldeguer (92 points). With the competition heating up, the Misano Sprint Race proved that the 2026 MotoGP crown is still very much up for grabs.
