MotoGP world championship leader Marc Marquez has openly admitted that he would prefer to be anywhere other than Doha on the eve of the Qatar GP. Facing an unpopular event set against a backdrop of regional tension, the Ducati factory rider has taken steps to keep his time in the region as short as humanly possible.

During the sparsely attended pre-event press conference, Marquez made no secret of his feelings regarding the venue. The Spanish star revealed that he intentionally arrived on the absolute latest flight available and intends to catch the earliest flight out once track activities conclude.
"I would like to be in another place," Marquez stated during the media session. "But for that reason, I arrived on the latest flight possible and I will leave on the earliest flight possible. But we are here, ready to race and fully concentrated on the job ahead."

Meanwhile, fellow Spaniard Raul Fernandez offered a contrasting view of the atmosphere inside the paddock. The Trackhouse Aprilia rider noted a palpable sense of tension hanging over the teams, differing from comments made by Pedro Acosta and Francesco Bagnaia who maintained that everything felt completely normal.
Fernandez has been cleared to participate in the upcoming sessions despite lingering concerns over his broken index finger. He may need to modify his braking technique once again, utilizing an alternative finger just as he did following his crash earlier in the season.
"This is a strange weekend, to be honest," Fernandez admitted. "I am not 100 percent on form, and the situation is a bit tricky. The tension we are all feeling right now is not exactly ideal for everyone working in the paddock."
