The battle for the premier class world championship crown delivered high tension at the Lusail International Circuit as Marc Marquez acknowledged the superior race pace of his key rival. The championship leader Marc Marquez successfully secured second place on the grid during a competitive qualifying session, positioning himself right behind the dominant Aprilia Racing star ahead of a potential title-clinching weekend.

Although the primary objective of locking out the front row was successfully achieved by Marc Marquez, the eight-time world champion openly admitted that the Italian rider possesses a pace operating on an entirely different level. This exceptional performance makes the championship sealing scenario in Qatar a complex task requiring meticulous strategic calculation and hard work from the Bologna factory garage.

"The front row was the main target, and we are there," Marc Marquez stated regarding his qualifying result. He further added about his competitor's speed, "We know that Marco has another pace this weekend, he's super fast. We must understand this and try to do our best."

The tangible threat stems not only from championship points math but also from the clear tire grip advantage demonstrated by the Aprilia machinery, particularly on used medium tires over longer stints. While soft rear tire choices remain an option for the shorter sprint race, rival manufacturers must urgently find solutions to counter the raw pace exhibited by the pole sitter in the desert venue.

This challenging predicament was echoed by strong Italian contender Fabio Di Giannantonio, who also locked down a front-row start. The former Qatar winner candidly admitted that the Noale-built bikes hold an extra edge in terms of race rhythm, forcing Ducati contenders to fight fiercely from the moment the red lights go out.

"I think Aprilias have something more than us on the pace, honestly, but we start from the front row, so we need to fight, we need to give it a go," Fabio Di Giannantonio concluded.
