Heading into a crucial weekend at the Sepang circuit, Marc Marquez hit the ground running during Friday practice with zero intentions of easing off the throttle, despite his main title rival dealing with injury setbacks. High confidence filled the garage after his factory machine felt immediately synchronized from the very first out-lap of the morning session.
The Spanish star easily secured the top spot in the morning before replicating his dominance in the afternoon session. Despite suffering a minor, low-speed crash at Turn 15 due to the high risks he was willing to take, the rest of the run remained flawless. This technical advantage was further underscored by his brother, Alex Marquez, claiming the second-fastest time right behind him, alongside strong pace from other riders aboard the Italian machinery.
"Some years at Sepang, I feel good from the beginning. Some years, I'm struggling from the beginning - and then all the weekend is more difficult. But today, from the out-lap, the feeling was good. Then with the medium rear tyre, it was a good feeling," he stated. He added that apart from the small fall where he pushed the absolute limits, everything else went perfectly according to plan.

The championship standings remain firmly in his hands as he aims to push his advantage further. However, caution remains high within the camp, keeping in mind how rapidly weekends can shift dynamically compared to previous rounds this season. Meanwhile, Aprilia's factory contender, Marco Bezzecchi, openly acknowledged the sheer pace of the Ducati contingent while hunting for crucial setup gains ahead of qualifying.
