US Racing's Luka Sammalisto delivered a masterclass performance by controlling the opening race of the season finale at Mugello to secure his tenth Italian Formula 4 victory of the year. The Finnish driver, who had already wrapped up the championship title at the penultimate round in Misano, led from lights to flag, comfortably managing the gap to the chasing pack in a largely clean encounter.
Speaking after the event, Sammalisto shared his thoughts on the race. "The start was really good. Here you just need to manage the tyres which I managed really well. The car just felt amazing so thanks to the whole US Racing team. I hope that I can finish the year with another hat-trick," he told Formula Scout.
Behind the dominant leader, McLaren junior Christian Costoya fended off Jenzer Motorsport's Elia Weiss to claim the runner-up spot. Weiss had nearly stalled from his outside front-row slot during the formation lap before recovering his grid position next to the polesitter. However, a sluggish getaway when the lights went out allowed Costoya to snatch second place on the run down to Turn 1.

Weiss relentlessly pressured Costoya during the opening laps with a couple of looks into the first corner, but was ultimately unable to reclaim his lost ground. They were followed across the line by Ludovico Busso, who slid heavily in the closing stages, inviting a late passing attempt from Mercedes-AMG F1 junior Andy Consani.
Consani ultimately fell just short, finishing right on the gearbox of Busso. Further down the order, Augustus Toniolo charged through from the sixth row to grab sixth place, trailed by Alp Aksoy and Iacopo Martinese to round out the competitive points-paying positions.
