Liam Lawson has played down speculation surrounding his future at Racing Bulls, insisting he remains happy with his partnership alongside rookie Arvid Lindblad despite recent team orders controversy during the Austrian Grand Prix.
The speculation emerged after Spanish media claimed Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov had already been earmarked to replace Lawson for the 2027 Formula 1 season. Racing Bulls, however, has firmly dismissed those reports.
Team principal Alan Permane made it clear during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend that no discussions regarding a driver change had taken place.

"They're just rumours. Honestly, we haven't even discussed it... not at all," Permane said.
Permane also praised both Lawson and Lindblad, highlighting their commitment, work ethic and ability to consistently deliver the performances expected by the team throughout the 2026 campaign.
While acknowledging that Tsolov has impressed in Formula 2 as a member of the Red Bull Junior Programme, Permane reiterated that Racing Bulls is fully satisfied with its current driver pairing.
Lawson also refused to be distracted by the speculation. Although he and Lindblad were involved in a brief team orders disagreement in Austria, the New Zealander believes their partnership continues to develop positively.
"Yeah, it's been working well so far, but it's a long season to go. At the moment we're in a good groove, and I'm very happy, just trying to keep the momentum rolling," Lawson said.
After eight rounds of the 2026 season, Lawson sits 10th in the drivers' standings with 30 points, while Lindblad occupies 13th with 14 points. Together, they have helped Racing Bulls climb to sixth in the constructors' championship, reinforcing the team's confidence in its current line-up despite the external speculation.
