Ahead of the Formula 1 race weekend at the Circuit of the Americas, Liam Lawson is set to make history as the first-ever active driver on the grid to headline a live music performance during a Grand Prix weekend. The Kiwi driver will be swapping his racing helmet for a custom guitar to entertain fans.
This unique off-track appearance will add a completely different vibe to the United States Grand Prix festivities. Instead of sticking to polite instrumental hobbies like some of his peers, he is diving straight into a full live band setup at Austin's Esses Bazaar.
The performance marks a special reunion with his childhood band, which features his own brother, as part of VCARB's 'Garage Sessions' scheduled for Thursday, October 22nd. It brings his paddock hobby directly to a massive live audience for the very first time.

Known for jamming with country music artist Warren Zeiders and even teaching his teammate Isack Hadjar how to play guitar last season, the young racer is well-prepared to showcase his hidden artistic talents to the motorsport community.
To celebrate his major stage debut, he will wield a custom-made instrument created in collaboration with Taylor Guitars, featuring a striking pink-to-white ombre finish and his distinctive racing number proudly displayed on the pickguard.
Despite piloting high-speed machinery in front of massive crowds globally, stepping up to a live music microphone presents an entirely new kind of pressure for the New Zealander before he shifts full focus back to on-track duties.
"Music is a big part of my life, and I use it to clear my head during the season, so I’m really excited to perform at Garage Sessions where we can connect with fans outside of the track," Liam Lawson explained regarding his upcoming musical milestone.
