The Formula 1 race weekend at the Marina Bay Street Circuit delivered a punishing physical and strategic challenge for Lewis Hamilton. Starting from the second row of the grid, the seven-time world champion could only manage a sixth-place finish after 62 grueling laps under the humid night lights of Singapore.
The root of the struggle stemmed from the initial tyre choice. The Ferrari driver opted to start the race on the yellow-walled Medium tyres, a tactical decision that triggered massive tyre degradation—a severe plight that similarly hampered fellow Medium-shod runners from the moment the red lights went out.
Even as the team attempted to stretch his stint into a one-stop strategy, the pace deficit relative to front-runners like Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Lando Norris, and Oscar Piastri proved insurmountable on the demanding street layout of the SF-26 challenger.

Following the chequered flag, the British driver took to the team radio to issue a candid apology, shouldering the blame and confirming that the failed strategy had been his own direct call.
"Sorry, boys. I let you down today with that strategy," he said over the team radio. "My call, and I lost us valuable points. I’ll try and make up for it in the next one."
The situation escalated further after stepping out of the car, as Ferrari revealed that Hamilton had fallen ill. The physical toll of Marina Bay—widely regarded as the most demanding track on the calendar—pushed him to seek medical attention from the FIA medical crew.
"After the race, Lewis felt unwell and has been seen by the FIA medical team," a Ferrari spokesperson stated. "He has been given permission by the FIA to not attend the post-race Media pen."
While no further health updates were immediately available, the Maranello squad’s immediate priority remains his recovery before the team heads to the Circuit of the Americas for the United States Grand Prix in two weeks.
