Following a commanding overall victory at the Suzuka 1000km in Japan, AO Racing and Absolute Racing will join forces once again this coming November to tackle one of the most legendary street races in motorsport. Operating under the banner of AO Racing by Absolute, the squad will compete in the FIA GT World Cup during the Macau Grand Prix from November 19 to 22, with Laurin Heinrich positioned behind the steering wheel of the #8 Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Much like the seasonal shifting of foliage colors, the visual appearance of the team's beloved dinosaur mascot is undergoing a striking transformation. Just in time for the Macau Grand Prix, the signature green skin of the fan-favorite T-Rex has morphed into a brilliant chrome red complemented by sophisticated golden accents. Within Chinese culture, red symbolizes immense good fortune, prosperity, and celebration—forming an ideal combination as the mascot, running under the moniker Chijin Rex, aims to conclude the 2026 season on a triumphant note.
This venture marks the inaugural appearance for the organization at the notorious Guia Circuit while seamlessly continuing the highly successful partnership forged between AO and Absolute Racing. Both entities previously teamed up earlier in the season for the 1,000-kilometer endurance classic in Suzuka, where Heinrich alongside his co-drivers secured an extraordinary overall victory, handing the German manufacturer its first overall triumph at the venue since 1994.
Heinrich returns to the driver lineup for this high-stakes street fight carrying immense momentum from his previous exploits with the team. The factory-backed driver has established himself as an indispensable pillar of the outfit's global GT program, having captured the GTD PRO championship title in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship back in 2024 before continuing his winning ways aboard the iconic dinosaur machinery.
The tight barriers and relentless layout of the Guia Circuit will present an entirely new challenge for the entire crew as they step into unfamiliar territory. However, armed with technical expertise and proven race-winning momentum, the squad remains fully focused on maximizing their performance package to fight at the very front of the fiercely competitive international GT field.
