The battle for supremacy at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez intensified during the final practice session. Lando Norris showcased his championship credentials by setting the pace late in the running, denying his rivals a clean sweep of practice dominance ahead of the crucial qualifying hour.
Action commenced immediately under green flag conditions as Ryo Hirakawa took to the track early for the Haas squad, stepping in for Esteban Ocon. However, drama unfolded quickly across the pit lane as technical gremlins began catching out several teams on the challenging high-altitude circuit.
Gabriel Bortoleto reported sudden power issues accompanied by tell-tale smoke trailing from the rear of his car, though he managed to nurse the machine safely back to the relative safety of the garage. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso suffered a throttle-related mishap that sent him into an innocuous spin after losing drive heading into the opening corner.

Grip levels remained exceptionally tricky throughout the field, leading to several mistakes under braking. Both Ferrari entries suffered successive moments running wide, with Charles Leclerc sliding off at Turn 10 before Lewis Hamilton encountered similar snapping oversteer through Turn 12 as drivers struggled with tyre degradation.
As the clock ticked down towards the checkered flag, track position battles heightened the tension. Oliver Bearman ran wide side-by-side with Franco Colapinto approaching Turn 6. Amidst the chaos and off-track excursions, Norris kept his composure to extract maximum performance from his package and secure the psychological advantage.
