A major milestone has just been achieved by McLaren star driver Lando Norris in expanding his motorsport footprint. The junior driver development project that he established alongside an investment group, LN4 Fusion, has officially secured a spot to compete in the FIA Formula 2 Championship starting in the 2027 season. This confirmation arrives following the championship organizers' announcement of the official team entry list for the upcoming three-year cycle, cementing the presence of the Formula 1 champion's newly formed racing outfit.
Roughly two months prior, this ambitious project named LN4 Fusion was unveiled to the public. Right from its inception, the key figure of the McLaren Formula 1 Team emphasized that their overarching vision extended well beyond competing in Italian Formula 4, the Formula Regional European Championship, and Formula 3, targeting an ultimate entry into the premier feeder category of Formula 1, which is Formula 2. The necessary administrative processes were promptly initiated to secure a coveted spot on the competitive grid.
The arrival of LN4 Fusion has been warmly welcomed by championship leadership. Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel expressed his enthusiasm regarding the inclusion of the new squad on the grid. We have experienced great interest from teams all over the world for this new three-year cycle, which underlines the strength and attractiveness of our championship, Michel stated, highlighting the immense global appeal of the feeder series.

Bruno Michel further added, I am also pleased to welcome LN4 Fusion to the starting grid. The team will bring extensive expertise, and I am confident that they will make a valuable contribution to the championship. Such confidence is certainly backed by the experienced leadership lineup steering LN4 Fusion behind the scenes, featuring seasoned professionals from across the motorsport landscape.
At the helm of the team management stands Rene Rosin, a manager who has accumulated around forty years of rich experience within professional motorsport. Meanwhile, operations in Great Britain are managed by Dan Hazlewood, who has successfully steered the Fusion Motorsport Karting team over recent years. Independent of this team entry, Norris also launched the LN4 Legacy Programme back in September, a fully funded driver development initiative operated by ADD Management under Julian Rouse.
