A major expansion is underway for Lando Norris as his newly established race team, LN4 Fusion, has officially secured a dedicated place on the Formula 2 grid for the upcoming three-year cycle starting in 2027. This milestone was achieved following a successful application process and the acquisition of assets from the former AIX squad.
Prior to this major confirmation, the ambitious racing organization had already announced plans to enter Formula 3 and Formula 4 when it was first revealed to the public back in September. However, any aspirations of breaking into the final junior single-seater tier relied heavily on securing a successful entry and buyout process.
Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel expressed great enthusiasm regarding the addition of the new outfit to the championship. "We received strong interest from teams around the world for this new three-year cycle, underlining the strength and appeal of our Championship," Michel stated.
Michel also emphasized that ten incumbent teams have been retained for consistently proving their dedication to nurturing young talent for the pinnacle of motorsport. "I am also pleased to welcome LN4 Fusion to the grid. They will bring considerable expertise, and I am confident they will make a valuable contribution to the Championship," he added.
Meanwhile, LN4 CEO Dan Richards shared his thoughts on reaching this crucial juncture for the team. "We are incredibly proud to have been selected to join the FIA Formula 2 grid for 2027. This is a significant milestone for LN4 Fusion and an important step towards delivering the vision we set out when we launched the team in September," Richards explained.
He stressed that Formula 2 remains the most demanding preparation stage before reaching Formula 1, acknowledging the tough competition ahead. The squad's primary focus now shifts entirely toward constructing solid foundations, gathering exceptional personnel, and preparing their drivers to fight at the very highest level.
