MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Toprak Razgatlioglu is likely to continue racing with Pramac Racing in the 2027 MotoGP season, according to his manager Kenan Sofuoglu, despite speculation linking the Turkish rider with a promotion to the factory Yamaha team.

Yamaha announced the signing of the three-time World Superbike champion in June 2025, marking Razgatlioglu’s return to the Japanese manufacturer after his previous stint with BMW. However, the official announcement did not specify the exact length of the contract.

Reports have suggested the agreement could run for two seasons with an option for a third year, prompting speculation that Razgatlioglu might move to the factory Yamaha squad in 2027 after debuting in MotoGP with Pramac in 2026.

Following his MotoGP debut at the Thailand Grand Prix at the Chang International Circuit, Sofuoglu clarified that the current plan is for Razgatlioglu to remain with the satellite team next season.

“Yamaha has a very positive attitude toward Toprak. They know they have a great rider,” Sofuoglu told GPOne.

“This project is mainly focused on 2027. Yamaha is investing in the future and preparing a new package because it is a reference brand in the world of racing.”

The Yamaha rider lineup for 2027 remains unresolved. With Fabio Quartararo expected to leave the manufacturer to join Honda, Yamaha has already secured the signing of Jorge Martin and is still evaluating options for the second factory seat.

Among the riders previously considered was Francesco Bagnaia, but the Italian reportedly declined a contract offer for 2027. Yamaha has since opened negotiations with Honda rider Luca Marini while also considering promoting a young Moto2 talent in a move similar to the team’s successful promotion of Quartararo in 2019.

Razgatlioglu remains on Yamaha’s list of potential candidates, although Sofuoglu emphasised that the priority is maintaining stability with Pramac.

“Yamaha is very happy with Toprak’s performance in this race, and this will motivate him even more. We have no pressure because we know this is a long-term project.”

At the season-opening Thailand Grand Prix, Razgatlioglu finished 17th, approximately 39 seconds behind race winner Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia, but ahead of his Pramac team-mate Jack Miller.

Sofuoglu insisted that the structure and working environment within the Pramac team are strong reasons for continuing the partnership.

“There are many rumours, but with Pramac we have a structure of great quality.”

“Our objective is to take Toprak to the highest level. I am 99% sure that Toprak will stay with the current team next year because we are happy here and we work well together.”

Nevertheless, Sofuoglu acknowledged that the contract remains flexible should opportunities arise in the future.
