Reassuring updates have emerged regarding the physical condition of Jorge Martin following his high-speed crash during the Sprint race weekend. The star rider for the Aprilia factory squad underwent a comprehensive computed tomography scan in Melbourne to accurately assess the extent of his injuries sustained at Phillip Island.
Initial medical evaluations at the circuit's medical center had already confirmed a distal radius fracture in his forearm. However, attending physicians could not immediately rule out the alarming suspicion of an additional fracture involving the ulna bone, which would have severely complicated his recovery timeline and required immediate surgical intervention back in Europe.
Fortunately, the latest diagnostic imaging results conclusively dismissed the worst-case scenario regarding the ulna. This positive development means Martin completely avoids the risk of flying back to Spain for complex orthopedic surgery, preserving his physical integrity as he navigates this challenging phase of the championship.

Armed with these encouraging medical clearances, Martin will travel to Malaysia as planned for the next round of the season. Once inside the paddock, the reigning world champion is set to strictly follow the medical advice and rehabilitation guidelines provided by the travelling MotoGP specialists.
Despite confirming his presence in Sepang, team management cautioned that it remains premature to guarantee an immediate return to competitive on-track action this weekend. While the stable nature of the closed radius fracture near the wrist is certainly a welcome sign, his eventual comeback will require continuous day-by-day evaluation by medical personnel at the track.
