Manager of Joan Mir, Paco Sanchez, has strongly criticized media reporting regarding his rider's recent illness, emphasizing the absolute right to medical privacy ahead of the upcoming MotoGP weekend.
The Honda factory rider had been sidelined since the San Marino Grand Prix due to an energy-sapping illness developed during the demanding weekend at Misano.
That lingering health issue forced the former world champion to sit out successive rounds in Austria, Japan, Indonesia, and Australia, while specific details of his diagnosis remain strictly confidential.

Taking to social media to address descriptions of the illness as mysterious, Sanchez firmly stated that diseases are not mysterious and every patient deserves respectful care and strict privacy.
The outspoken manager highlighted that patients maintain every right to receive clear information, participate in health decisions, and above all protect their personal confidentiality from sensationalist headlines.
Reflecting on his grueling recovery period ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix, Mir acknowledged that the past few weeks presented a significant challenge before doctors finally granted him clearance.
Having completed training sessions on various bikes over the past week, the Spanish rider expressed eagerness to reunite with his crew and evaluate his physical condition at a familiar circuit.
Honda will certainly welcome back their full lineup to the factory garage, especially after enduring recent setbacks including teammate absences due to viral infections during the flyaway races.
