While almost the entire field gambled on the soft compound during the Sprint—with Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia suffering severe late-race degradation—Miller and Marco Bezzecchi opted for the medium option to secure better stability.

However, discovering severe blisters on his own medium tyre raises the likelihood of Michelin introducing the reinforced hard compound for the main race, throwing all weekend telemetry out of the window.
