MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Jack Miller expresses enthusiasm for the 2025 Japan MotoGP at Motegi, set for September 26-28, where he claimed his last victory three years ago. Racing with Yamaha, Miller approaches the team’s home race with high motivation.

Returning to Motegi with Fond Memories

The Japan MotoGP holds special significance for Miller, who last won at Motegi in 2022. Now riding for Yamaha, confirmed for 2026, this marks his first MotoGP race at Motegi with the team. “I’m thrilled to be back at Motegi. It’s a key race for Yamaha and deeply special for me as the site of my last victory,” Miller said. He fondly recalled the warm reception from fans during his second-place finish at the Suzuka 8 Hours in August and visits to Yamaha’s Iwata headquarters and Tokyo.

As a result, Miller is eager to leverage his affinity for the Motegi circuit and fan support to deliver a strong performance.

Oliveira and Pramac Yamaha’s Homecoming

For Miguel Oliveira, the 2025 Japan MotoGP may be his only race with Yamaha, as he is not retained for 2026 and is rumored to join World Superbike with BMW. Nevertheless, Oliveira remains enthusiastic. “This race is special as Yamaha’s home Grand Prix, and I’m always excited to return to Japan,” he stated. His visit to Yamaha Motor Racing in Iwata fueled his drive to build on recent team progress.

Pramac Yamaha’s Team Director, Gino Borsoi, highlighted Motegi’s layout. “Hard braking suits the YZR-M1’s strengths, but restarts are a challenge,” Borsoi noted. Following a solid previous race, the team aims to sustain its upward trajectory in front of Yamaha’s home crowd.

Opportunities and Challenges at Motegi

Motegi’s demanding braking zones align with the YZR-M1’s strengths, though acceleration remains a hurdle. As Yamaha’s official satellite team, Pramac Yamaha seeks to capitalize on recent improvements. Consequently, Miller and Oliveira are motivated to seize the moment and deliver for the passionate fans.

Looking Forward

The 2025 Japan MotoGP offers Yamaha a platform to showcase progress in a transitional season toward 2026. With Miller and Oliveira’s determination and strong fan support, the team aims for a memorable performance. The race also marks the start of the Asian tour, where unexpected opportunities often arise for riders and teams.
