Isack Hadjar secured an incredible third place on the grid at the Circuit of the Americas after describing his United States Grand Prix weekend as an absolute disaster. The French driver initially struggled massively to find any sort of drivability or balance with his car throughout the opening practice sessions at Austin.
Hadjar entered the weekend dealing with setup disconnects, frequently having his lap times deleted and struggling to complete a single clean run on soft tires during the morning sessions. However, relentless setup changes in the garage completely revived his machine just in time for the crucial Q3 shootout.
"I mean, it’s been a disaster of a weekend for me," Hadjar told media members, including Motorsport Week, following the qualifying session. He elaborated on his early struggles, noting that despite feeling comfortable during certain halves of a lap, maintaining consistency proved exceptionally difficult.

"In that qualifying, the car really came alive a bit more for me. We really dug deep on the set-up. We tried so many things this weekend, and it really paid off. So, on that note, it’s really, really satisfying," Hadjar explained regarding the dramatic performance shift that salvaged his weekend grid position.
With Max Verstappen also sharing strong competitive pace within the team, Hadjar hinted that Red Bull intends to leverage their combined grid presence to challenge pole-sitter Andrea Kimi Antonelli during Sunday's main race.
