IndyCar Portland 2026 Results: Palou Wins, Extends Points Lead

Alex Palou once again proved why he is the man to beat in IndyCar. The Spaniard cruised to victory at Portland International Raceway on Sunday afternoon, extending his lead in the 2026 standings.

Starting from pole, Palou took control early and never looked back after the first pit sequence. It was his sixth win of the season, underlining the remarkable consistency of Chip Ganassi Racing as the championship enters its crucial final stretch.

Behind him, Felix Rosenqvist finished second, with Will Power completing the podium in third. The result gave Honda a clean sweep of the top three spots—a strong statement ahead of the remaining rounds.

The only caution of the day came on Lap 7 when Graham Rahal slid off into the grass and hit the tire barriers. He managed to continue but spent the rest of the race near the back. Marcus Armstrong was the sole retirement, pulling off with an engine issue.

With this win, Palou's points lead grows even larger. Attention now turns to Canada, where the series heads next weekend for its only race north of the border.
