The eternal debate over who is the greatest Formula 1 driver of all time has reignited. Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher sit atop our newly released ranking of the top 25 F1 drivers, and the result is a dead heat at number one.
In a vote involving 10 journalists from Motorsport, Autosport, and Yahoo Sports, Hamilton and Schumacher each collected 235 points. Both are seven-time world champions, but their achievements came in contrasting styles.
Schumacher dominated his era with Benetton and Ferrari, winning 91 grands prix and setting the benchmark for a generation. Hamilton, meanwhile, not only matched Schumacher's title tally but surpassed him in wins and pole positions, with success spread across the McLaren, Mercedes, and now Ferrari eras.

Interestingly, the voting details favored Hamilton. He received four first-place votes to Schumacher's two, and was ranked ahead of Schumacher on six of the 10 ballots. Yet when every position was scored, neither could pull clear.
Now, the final call is up to the fans. Will you back Schumacher, who is credited with transforming Ferrari and showing sheer dominance at his peak? Or Hamilton, who is seen as more consistent in a tighter competitive era, matching Schumacher's record while breaking numerous statistical milestones?
This debate will never be fully settled. Schumacher's supporters often point to his relentless drive and the revolution he brought to Maranello. Hamilton's fans will highlight his adaptability across different regulations and teams, plus his remarkable consistency over more than a decade.
So, who do you think deserves to stand alone at the top? Are you Team Hamilton or Team Schumacher? Your vote decides.
