Hamilton Slams Ferrari for 'Wasting Time' in Fiery Zandvoort Radio
TO NEWS OVERVIEW
Lewis Hamilton was not happy with Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton let his frustration boil over at Ferrari during the Dutch Grand Prix, accusing his own team of wasting time by delaying the decision to swap him with teammate Charles Leclerc. The seven-time world champion lost track position to Leclerc at the start but was clearly faster on fresher tyres in the middle stint, only to be held up while Ferrari dithered over team orders.

After finally catching Leclerc on lap 42, Lewis Hamilton opened his radio: "I'm quicker than Charles. My tyres are better." Race engineer Carlo Santi replied, "Understood," but no action followed. The 41-year-old snapped back, "We're just losing time!" and a lap later added sarcastically, "Great way of wasting time, guys. Good job."

The complaints didn't end there. After losing position to both Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Lando Norris, who were on much fresher tyres, Hamilton questioned Ferrari's strategy once more: "Are you using me as a guinea pig or what? What's going on? How long will you have me stay out?" Ferrari responded by pitting him the next lap, capitalizing on a virtual safety car to double-stack both drivers, which finally defused the tension.

In the final laps, Hamilton couldn't find a way past George Russell's Mercedes and had to settle for fourth place, just ahead of Leclerc. After the checkered flag, Santi offered, "Thank you Lewis. A bit unlucky with Russell..." But Hamilton was having none of it: "We weren't unlucky! We lost time earlier on and that cost us P3."

The result extends Antonelli's championship lead over Russell to 59 points. Russell and Hamilton are now tied on points, but Russell holds the advantage on countback due to more wins. Hamilton's frustration is a clear sign that his move to Ferrari, aimed at chasing a record eighth title, is not yet delivering the results he expects, especially when strategy calls are costing him valuable points.
