Lewis Hamilton has launched a scathing critique of his Ferrari team after being pushed wide by teammate Charles Leclerc on the opening lap at Monza. The seven-time world champion finished a distant sixth, and he feels the team's support in the title fight has come too late.
The incident at Turn 1 was clearly frustrating for Hamilton. He appeared to have the inside line but was forced onto the gravel. Leclerc later crashed at Parabolica, triggering a red flag. The result: Hamilton lost valuable points to Mercedes rivals Kimi Antonelli and George Russell in the championship battle.
Criticism of Ferrari's Execution
Hamilton has repeatedly pointed out Ferrari's poor execution, especially regarding team orders. At the Dutch GP, he felt a podium was lost because the team hesitated to ask Leclerc to move aside when Hamilton was faster on fresher tires. Hamilton believes he should have been prioritized, given his closer points gap to the Mercedes drivers than Leclerc's.

"I think from today, we've just lost so much ground to them [Mercedes] on points," Hamilton told media including Motorsport.com. "It's far too late for those decisions to come. It's many, many weeks too late."
Hamilton also expressed disappointment with the team's performance all weekend, including a messy qualifying session where he nearly got eliminated in Q2 due to difficulty getting a slipstream. "We didn't execute that well yesterday, and I think the same today," he lamented.
Despite the setbacks, Hamilton remains committed to fighting. "I'll get up tomorrow morning and I'll give it my best. I feel massively gutted for the tifosi who showed up for us," he added.
With the points gap widening, Hamilton's chances at an eighth title are fading fast. He now trails Antonelli by 76 points, and Ferrari is 122 points behind Mercedes in the constructors' standings. Yet Hamilton insists he will keep pushing until the very end.
