As the paddock begins to shift focus toward Monza, Ferrari finds itself in a tense situation behind the scenes. According to a report from Franco Nugnes at Motorsport.com, the Maranello squad is still working on their second-phase power unit development — known as ADUO — and has yet to complete reliability testing on the dyno. That means a race against time to get everything finished before the Italian Grand Prix this weekend.
Interestingly, this news comes just days after the FIA officially announced the results of the internal combustion engine evaluations for ADUO for the first time this season. From that announcement, we finally know where each manufacturer stands after the first two analysis periods. However, as many had suspected, nothing has changed since the Monaco Grand Prix — because the results had already leaked earlier. So, this is a “breaking news” that isn’t really news.
Amidst the buzz, one name has been drawn into the speculation: Andrea Kimi Antonelli. According to the same article, there is a possibility that the Mercedes junior driver’s power unit is also being updated with the latest ADUO package. If true, this could be a sign that the German manufacturer is serious about closing the performance gap in the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, at Zandvoort, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff was spotted having a lengthy chat — about an hour — with Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll. That warm conversation in the middle of the paddock immediately raised questions: is there a hint of Mercedes nostalgia within Aston Martin? Especially since the technical relationship between the two teams has long been established and always sparks interesting discussions.
On the regulatory side, the official verdict on the Gasly incident at the Monaco GP will still have to wait a couple of weeks. So, be patient — just like Ai Ogura, who is confirmed to miss Aragon after breaking his thumb during training. The Aprilia Trackhouse rider will have to watch the race from the couch, hopefully a speedy recovery!
