The floodlit evening practice session at the Lusail International Circuit delivered intense drama as Fabio Di Giannantonio set a blistering pace to break the lap record at one of his absolute favourite hunting grounds. The VR46 Ducati rider instantly found his groove upon bolting on a fresh soft rear tyre midway through the session, ultimately clinching the top spot.
Right behind the Italian standout, Marc Marquez showcased supreme composure after suffering an unusual mechanical mishap when the chain snapped off his primary machine with roughly 27 minutes remaining. Unfazed by the setback, the championship leader seamlessly hopped onto his second bike and immediately rejoined the battle, securing second fastest and an automatic berth in Qualifying 2.
The battle at the sharp end intensified as Aprilia Racing's Marco Bezzecchi claimed third quickest, displaying fierce determination. Meanwhile, factory Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia bounced back strongly from recent struggles, clinching fourth place with a race-pace rhythm that signaled a major return to form.

In stark contrast, Pedro Acosta endured a surprisingly difficult evening, failing to crack the top ten and finishing down in 14th place over a second off the pace. However, fellow KTM rider Enea Bastianini salvaged strong manufacturer representation by pushing his Tech3 machine into sixth position.
With the grid shaping up for an explosive qualifying showdown under the desert lights, the psychological and technical battles across the paddock are reaching a fever pitch.
