Lewis Hamilton set the pace in the final practice session at the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, capping off a clean sweep of practice sessions for the Maranello squad at Austin. The British driver emerged as the only competitor to break the crucial 1-minute 35-second barrier during the frantic closing stages of the third practice.

The session started at a pedestrian pace before picking up momentum as Lewis Hamilton posted a 1m36.716s on soft compound tires. That benchmark was temporarily challenged by Liam Lawson of Racing Bulls and Oscar Piastri driving for McLaren, both pushing hard as track evolution improved the circuit conditions.
Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen briefly claimed the top spot with a 1m35.702s lap on medium tires despite recurring complaints regarding unsettling downshifts. However, the pace ramped up significantly as teams transitioned to qualifying simulations in the final twenty minutes.

Strict track limits heavily influenced the closing minutes, catching out several front-runners. Charles Leclerc was denied a flying lap due to exceeding track limits at Turn 10, forcing the Monegasque driver to settle for third place behind his teammate.
Capitalizing on the conditions, Lewis Hamilton bolted on soft tires to record a blistering 1m34.893s lap. With Max Verstappen slotting into second, the stage is perfectly set for a fiercely contested qualifying showdown on Saturday afternoon.
