Lando Norris mastered the rain to claim pole position for the 2026 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. The McLaren driver set a 1m11.163s lap, edging out George Russell who will start second.
Norris had finished only third in Saturday's sprint and was pessimistic about McLaren's race pace, but he delivered when it mattered in qualifying. The British driver outpaced Mercedes' George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who completes the top three.
Oscar Piastri was fourth in the other McLaren, while Lewis Hamilton salvaged fifth for Ferrari after being 10th late in Q3. Charles Leclerc took sixth, ahead of Max Verstappen who could only manage seventh at his home race.

Liam Lawson was eighth in the Red Bull, with Gabriel Bortoleto (Audi) and Arvid Lindblad (Racing Bull) rounding out the top ten. Aston Martin's struggles continued, with Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll eliminated in Q1 despite Honda's upgrade.
Rain began to fall in the final five minutes of Q3, but it wasn't heavy enough to disrupt the battle for pole. The stage is set for an exciting race at Zandvoort, with McLaren and Mercedes looking strong while Verstappen faces an uphill battle from seventh.
