The Formula 1 weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace Interlagos delivered immediate drama for newcomer Rafael Camara. The young driver, drafted in unexpectedly ahead of schedule to replace Esteban Ocon at the Haas squad, was handed an official reprimand from the race stewards following a dangerous on-track incident.
The near-miss occurred during the second practice session in front of his home crowd. The debutant impeded the run of Scuderia Ferrari star Charles Leclerc through one of the fastest sections of the iconic Brazilian venue on the approach toward the main straight, forcing the Monegasque driver to take evasive action off the tarmac.
According to the official stewards' verdict, car number 51 was weaving and moving into the racing line despite receiving multiple radio warnings that a fast-approaching car was closing in. The governing body noted that the resulting situation was clearly hazardous and required immediate defensive maneuvering to avert a major collision.

Despite the early disciplinary setback, the rookie's overall progression across Friday's practice sessions drew encouraging remarks from within the garage. Having trailed his teammate Ollie Bearman by a significant margin during the morning running, the debutant successfully closed the gap during the afternoon session.
Haas head of car engineering Hoagy Nidd praised the youngster's ability to cope with an intimidating environment and steep learning curve. The team expressed satisfaction with how the Brazilian driver steadily built up his pace, handled standard team procedures, and provided constructive feedback throughout a demanding opening day.
