Andrea Kimi Antonelli just created a magical night at Monza. Starting from 19th on the grid, he completed an incredible comeback to win the Italian Grand Prix and take the championship lead. But the euphoria must be short-lived—round 14 of the season is already waiting in Madrid next weekend.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli is scheduled to race again on 11-13 September at the Madring circuit in Spain. This will be Formula 1's first visit to the new venue, and the second race in the country this year after the Barcelona Grand Prix.
That home win felt special after he received an engine penalty earlier in the weekend. When the red flag flew on lap two due to a heavy crash for Charles Leclerc, Antonelli had already climbed to 12th. He then fought hard with teammate George Russell before a clever pit stop under Virtual Safety Car gave him fresh tyres to chase down and pass Russell.

With a slim lead in the standings, the Madrid weekend will be a big test for Mercedes. A new circuit always brings uncertainty, and rival teams will arrive fully prepared to fight for the podium.
