The Formula 1 paddock at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez has been gripped by intense internal drama involving Esteban Ocon and the Haas squad ahead of the final practice sessions. Amid growing confusion regarding his sudden absence from the race track, the French driver issued an official statement to quell widespread media speculation surrounding the controversy.

The situation erupted after reports surfaced from French newspaper L’Equipe claiming a meeting between the driver and team principal Ayao Komatsu had ended abruptly on Friday evening. The report raised eyebrows by suggesting a potential physical altercation took place behind closed doors, citing unnamed sources while neither party initially responded to immediate requests for commentary on the matter.

Addressing the swirling rumors directly, Ocon acknowledged that a genuine difference in viewpoints had indeed led to a heated discussion among the involved parties. However, he firmly rejected any suggestions or media narratives implying that the disagreement had turned violent or that physical force was used to resolve internal tensions.

"Last night, a difference in viewpoints led to a discussion with the parties involved. Whilst I acknowledge that this took place, I categorically reject any reports or allegations suggesting that any form of physical violence was used to resolve any differences of any nature," Ocon stated. He further emphasized his condemnation of violence in all forms, insisting that professional disagreements must always be handled with mutual respect.

The turmoil compounds an already complicated exit strategy, as Haas confirmed earlier that the Frenchman would sit out the remainder of the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend. Reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa was hastily drafted in to replace him for the remainder of the event, with team management declining to elaborate on the sudden lineup change while ruling out illness as a factor.

The paddock has been rife with speculation linking the withdrawal to a frustrated radio exchange during FP2, where Ocon openly questioned a strategy call made by race engineer Laura Mueller regarding a tyre compound switch. Despite the timing, team officials have maintained silence regarding the exact catalyst behind the driver's dramatic removal from the weekend's proceedings.
