Veda Pratama Targets Moto3 Top Five After Sachsenring Pace

Veda Pratama has an opportunity to close on the top five in the 2026 Moto3 championship after setting the fastest time in Practice for the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring.

The Honda Team Asia rider currently holds seventh place with 82 points. Pratama is level with Hakim Danish but sits one position lower due to the championship tie-break criteria.

The gap to the top five remains within reach. Pratama trails Brian Uriarte and Marco Morelli by 20 points, with both riders holding 102 points in fourth and fifth respectively.

Pratama is also 27 points behind third-placed David Almansa, while Alvaro Carpe occupies second with 121 points. Championship leader Maximo Quiles has established a significantly larger advantage after scoring 211 points and six victories.

Pratama has recorded one podium this season but is still searching for his first victory. His Sachsenring speed, where he topped Practice by 0.008 seconds, creates an opportunity to improve that record and collect valuable championship points.

A strong result in the German Moto3 race could move Pratama ahead of Danish and reduce his deficit to the riders inside the top five. With only 20 points separating fourth and seventh, a podium result could significantly reshape that section of the standings.

Pratama’s next task is to convert his one-lap speed at the Sachsenring into a competitive grid position and race result. The German Grand Prix represents an important opportunity to strengthen his championship campaign before the next phase of the 2026 season.
