The intense pressure cooker of Formula 1 has flared up once again as Frederic Vasseur launched a scathing critique against local media coverage. Amidst internal speculations that upper management quickly worked to diffuse, the team principal pointed out that persistent negative narratives take a heavy toll on the workforce.
Prior to these remarks, rumors regarding leadership stability at Maranello had circulated widely. However, senior executives stepped in to firmly deny any internal friction, reiterating complete confidence and unbroken harmony within the storied Ferrari organization.
Speaking candidly during an interview alongside Jean Alesi for Canal Plus F1, Vasseur addressed how external noise filters down to the factory floor, explaining why he actively chooses to disconnect from social media and headlines.
“I don't have Instagram, I don't have Twitter, I don't read the press. I try to isolate myself from all of that. The number 1 problem is the 1,500 people who work with me and who, when there is something negative about me, the team, and everything else, feel the blow in the morning. And I think this enormously harms the team's results,” Vasseur stated regarding the psychological impact on his staff.
Reflecting further on his tenure, the team boss emphasized that simply wearing red is not the ultimate milestone; rather, true success is defined strictly by delivering victories on the grandest stage of motorsport.
“Going to Ferrari is not the Holy Grail, winning with Ferrari is. I don't feel like I've arrived at all. At Ferrari it's great, but it's even better if you win,” he concluded, praising the unwavering passion of the fanbase outside the gates regardless of race outcomes.
