Two rising Super2 stars were handed a rare opportunity to sample the latest generation Supercars machinery during a passenger ride day at Queensland Raceway. The experience proved crucial for their ongoing campaigns.
Eliza Buckley was given the keys to Aaron Seton's stunning #30 Matt Stone Racing Chevrolet Camaro, featuring a throwback livery reminiscent of Glenn Seton's Peter Jackson Falcons from the 1990s. Having previously had only a brief taste of a Gen3 car, the session allowed the young gun to better familiarise herself with the current generation machinery.
Buckley is in the midst of her first Super2 season as a satellite entry to MSR, while also enjoying success in the TA2 Muscle Car Series under the Chevrolet Performance banner. "I feel like it doesn't exactly handle the same in the sense that it doesn't understeer as much," she told Supercars.com. "It has a lot less aerodynamics, so it's less dependent on the braking. But yeah, it's a pretty cool car. I love the car. There are definitely similarities between the Super2 car and the Gen3 car, and also with the Trans Am car."

Queensland Raceway has been a happy hunting ground for Buckley in TA2, having dominated her first three events at the circuit, including a pair of two-driver rounds with Tim Slade.
Meanwhile, Ryan Hillyer had the chance to sample Ryan Wood's #2 Walkinshaw TWG Racing Toyota Supra late in the afternoon. The young gun has been well entrenched in the Walkinshaw junior pathway, having raced for the squad in Toyota GR Cup and Super2. He remains with the team as a mechanic but races for Brad Jones Racing this year.
With three rounds remaining in the Super2 season, Hillyer sits ninth in the standings, while Buckley is 18th after a tough opening half. Super2 returns in support of the Bathurst 1000 on October 8-11, followed by two events in November at the Sandown 500 and Adelaide Grand Final. PremiAir Racing also fielded guest driver Nic Carroll during the passenger ride day, using its recently refurbished spare chassis.
