The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series has confirmed that its 2026 season will conclude with a unique day-night event at Sydney Motorsport Park on Saturday, November 14. This marks a new chapter after the series returned under Motorsport Australia sanction following a messy split with AASA.
Earlier, the series announced its comeback at Winton on September 25-27. However, the rest of the season was uncertain. Now, clarity has arrived: Sydney Motorsport Park will host the final round with a single-day event starting in the morning and racing under lights.
Series manager Graham Sattler revealed that race formats will undergo a significant shake-up. Inspired by the Legends Nationals event earlier in the year, the competition will feature a mix of sprint and endurance formats, with speedway-style racing expected. "It’s been a real bonus that we’ve been able to organise a final round of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series for this year," said Sattler. "The format will be something new for our categories, modelled slightly on the Legends Nationals event from earlier in the year."
The Australian IRC Racing Series is the first category to confirm its participation, and it will also feature at Winton. The schedule will include 14 hours of on-track sessions, blending sprint and endurance formats. Sattler added that special things are planned and will be shared once finalised.
The ARDC (Australian Racing Drivers Club) played a crucial role in saving the event. "It’s late in the piece to be organising a new event, but the ARDC has come to our rescue," Sattler said. "It goes back to George (Gambino, Hi-Tec Oils) and the relationship he has with the ARDC, which he has been a big supporter of. It’s great that the ARDC has been able to provide this day for us to conclude the season."
With a tight turnaround, organisers remain optimistic. "At this stage it’s looking really exciting for Sydney," Sattler added. Further details are set to be announced in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, broadcast details for the remaining two rounds are expected to be confirmed soon, with free-to-air networks SBS and YouTube, as well as Fox Sports and Kayo Sports, to broadcast the action.
