Skoda Peaq Enters Mass Production, Shares Line with Elroq

Skoda has officially started series production of its newest SUV, the Skoda Peaq, at its main plant in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. The Czech automaker announced the milestone, marking a new chapter in its electrification strategy.

Interestingly, the Peaq is assembled on the same production line as the all-electric Elroq, Enyaq, and the combustion-engine Octavia. This is not just a technical decision—it’s a tangible demonstration of manufacturing flexibility that allows Skoda to respond quickly and efficiently to market demand.

Strong Early Market Response

Market response to the Peaq has been encouraging. By the end of July, just two months after its launch, Skoda had already received nearly 8,500 orders for the new SUV. That figure is a strong signal that the design and specifications of the Peaq have been well received by consumers, especially in the increasingly competitive electric vehicle segment.

In its highest trim, the Peaq is equipped with the largest traction battery ever installed in a Skoda vehicle, with a gross capacity of 91 kWh. This battery delivers a driving range of more than 640 kilometers on a single charge. Skoda also produces the advanced battery systems for the Peaq in-house at its new assembly facility in Mlada Boleslav.

Electrification Takes Center Stage

Together with the Epiq, produced in Pamplona, Spain, the Peaq doubles Skoda’s electric vehicle lineup in 2026. The Czech brand is clearly betting big on electrification. In the first half of 2026, nearly 23 percent of vehicles produced at its Czech plants were fully electric.

“Producing four models, three of which are fully electric, on a single line clearly demonstrates the competence and versatility of our team in Mlada Boleslav,” said Andreas Dick, Skoda Auto Chief Production Officer. This statement underscores that Skoda is not only focused on products but also on adaptive manufacturing efficiency.
