Rio de Janeiro will become the spectacular stage for the official launch of the 2027 MotoGP season. Scheduled for February 21, 2027, at the iconic Botafogo beach, the event will bring together all teams and riders competing in next year's world championship. It will also serve as the first introduction for many riders to their new bikes and teams, before the lights go out at the season opener.
The decision follows the huge success of MotoGP's return to Brazil in 2026 after more than two decades away. The Goiania circuit hosted a race that drew massive attention, with sold-out tickets and an incredible atmosphere from Brazilian fans. Now, Brazil takes the spotlight again, not only as a race host but as the center of the pre-season celebration.
The season launch in Rio continues a tradition that previously saw events in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. With the backdrop of Botafogo beach and the towering Christ the Redeemer statue, the event is expected to be a global showcase for media, commercial partners, and fans eagerly awaiting on-track action.
