Rins Closes on Ducati WorldSBK Seat, 'Decisive Week' Ahead

Alex Rins is reportedly close to finalising a deal to race for GoEleven Ducati in WorldSBK next season, a move that would further highlight the growing exodus of MotoGP riders to the production-based series.

The MotoGP race winner with Suzuki and Honda will leave the factory Yamaha squad at the end of this year, after the Iwata manufacturer opted for an all-new Jorge Martin-Ai Ogura line-up for 2027.

Rins, along with Brad Binder, Jack Miller and Franco Morbidelli, now looks destined for WorldSBK, where riders will hope to capitalise on their Michelin-tyre experience as the series switches to Pirelli.

According to GPOne.com, Rins has set his sights on a Ducati Panigale V4 through the GoEleven team. Riccardo Guglielmetti wrote that both sides are cautiously optimistic, with this week shaping up to be decisive for the move in 2027.

Rather than replacing Lorenzo Baldassarri, Rins could join the Italian on a new second GoEleven entry, effectively expanding the team's presence in the championship.

Rins starts this weekend's Aragon MotoGP in 20th place overall, with a best finish of ninth on Yamaha's struggling V4. Factory team-mate Fabio Quartararo is the leading Yamaha rider in 14th, and will switch to Honda for the new 850cc/Pirelli era.

Triple WorldSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu will be the only Yamaha MotoGP rider staying put for 2027, with Izan Guevara set to replace Jack Miller at Pramac.
