New financial documents filed with Companies House have revealed that Red Bull Racing paid a staggering £33.494 million to former team principal Christian Horner following his sudden dismissal from the Milton Keynes-based outfit.

The high-profile departure occurred on July 9th, 2025, abruptly halting a remarkably successful 20-year tenure in which Christian Horner guided the squad to eight drivers' world championships, six constructors' titles, and an impressive tally of 124 Grand Prix victories.

Parent company Red Bull GmbH made the definitive call to sack the long-serving British boss, bringing in Laurent Mekies from sister team Racing Bulls to steer the operation forward, while Christian Horner officially stepped down as a company director on August 13th, 2025, despite having a contract that stretched until 2030.

According to the mandatory financial submissions examined by industry insiders, the massive figure was designated as compensation for loss of office for the highest-paid director, coming on top of the £4.441 million salary he earned prior to his termination during the 2025 season.

This financial settlement strictly covers accounts from Red Bull Racing and excludes separate entities like Red Bull Powertrains or Red Bull Advanced Technologies, meaning the overall payout package could eventually surpass the £50 million threshold when subsequent financial reports are officially filed.
