Formula 1, Sportrik Media - Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin encountered reliability problems during the opening morning of the second 2026 F1 pre-season test at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Isack Hadjar was limited to just 13 laps after his Red Bull RB22 developed a water leak in the Red Bull Powertrains engine. The issue restricted his running while the team worked in the garage to resolve the problem and return him to the track.

At Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso completed only 28 laps across the first three hours of the morning session after his car suffered an engine issue. The exact cause was not immediately confirmed, but the world feed showed a borescope being used in the garage to inspect the Honda power unit.

Problems also affected new entrant Cadillac, with Sergio Perez managing just two laps in over two hours of running. He later returned to the circuit during the third hour and began to log consistent laps, although he remained 7.153 seconds off the pace set by Charles Leclerc of Ferrari.

The second Bahrain pre-season test represents the final opportunity for teams to confirm reliability and performance before the 2026 Formula 1 season begins with the opening round in Australia.
