Raul Fernandez secured his first-ever MotoGP pole position during an action-packed qualifying session at the Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika. The Spaniard delivered a stellar performance to top the timesheets, edging out the rest of the grid at the challenging Indonesian circuit.
Riding for the Trackhouse squad, Fernandez masterfully navigated the layout to outpace factory Aprilia rider Marco Bezzecchi, who settled for second place on the grid. VR46 Ducati's Fabio di Giannantonio rounded out the front row after showing strong pace throughout the qualifying shootout.
Further down the field, title contenders Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin found themselves starting from the second row of the grid. Tension flared during the final run when Marquez deliberately followed Martin on track, sticking closely to his rear wheel when the Aprilia rider attempted to back off and create space.

Getting into Q2 required resilience from several riders, including Ai Ogura and defending Mandalika winner Fermin Aldeguer, who had to fight their way through Qualifying 1. Ogura faced adversity with only a single bike following a crash in Q1, while Aldeguer also suffered a fall during Q2.
Meanwhile, the paddock witnessed a remarkable recovery from Toprak Razgatlioglu, who returned from a dislocated shoulder sustained in final practice to claim 19th position on the grid for the upcoming races.
