Celebrating a quarter-century milestone in the global automotive landscape, Nissan is marking a major achievement as global sales for the X-Trail surpass the eight million unit mark worldwide. To commemorate this legacy, the Japanese manufacturer is introducing the new N-Trek trim designed specifically to reinforce the adventurous spirit that has defined the iconic SUV since its inception.
Entering its fourth generation since debuting in 2001, the X-Trail remains a core pillar of Nissan's global success. The original formula combining the practicality and comfort of a sedan with the ruggedness of an off-roader successfully shaped family crossover preferences and established a solid foundation for the modern utility vehicle segment.
Over time, the model has continually adapted to shifting consumer demands. As diesel powertrains dropped to 27 percent of market sales while hybrid solutions surged to 60 percent, Nissan responded by outfitting the entire X-Trail lineup with the innovative e-POWER system, available alongside the electrified all-wheel-drive e-4ORCE technology.

The patented e-POWER system utilizes an electric motor to drive the wheels directly, while the internal combustion engine acts solely as a power generator. This engineering approach delivers smooth and silent acceleration without requiring plug-in charging, preserving traditional refueling habits while lowering emissions and maintaining driving pleasure.
Drivetrain evolution is further highlighted by the e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system. Utilizing independent electric motors for each axle, electronic controls adjust torque and braking across all four wheels within a ten-thousandth of a second, ensuring exceptional stability, precision, and reduced body roll across varying low-grip road surfaces.
